    Greta information…thanks for posting…had this exact issue a few months ago[bloating] as i started eating vegan…tried this plan for 3 months but did not lose a single ounce or any body fat so i stopped…think i will try again…i do get "food comas" after eating lunch [potatoes, asparagus, cauliflower, salad mix from the whole foods hot/salad bar]…not sure why but feel extremely tired after eating.

    Soaking the beans does nothing. You have to eat them regularly (like, daily) and then you'll develop the gut bacteria to digest them properly.

    I find regular consumption of dairy yogurt helps with this a lot. Silk and Stoneyfield make good ones.

    if you drink smoothies daily and you use a lower quality blender, make sure you're giving the smoothie a couple hours of sitting to let the air escape. if not, you're consuming like 25% air believe it or not. to accelerate this process, you may spin the blades on a low speed (just enough to circulate the smoothie) and bubbles will group up and gain enough volume to float up and out of the smoothie. this was my issue, and i thought i was allergic to grains and i cut out grains and i couldnt even get to 2000 calories a day without bloating because after my smoothie my stomach would enter baloon mode. so yeah just thought i'd share.
    idk why people are saying their farts don't smell tho, i don't have that experience at all. i eat NO processed foods, except for hot sauce, which is very small part of my diet. and my farts small fukkin awful

    I’ve been vegan for almost 3 years . I was recently Ill (virus)for 2 weeks so I couldn’t eat .. I’ve recently got better and started eating again but I get bloated and gassy ;(

    Lol, vegans are the farters, bud. Bloating is caused by overconsumption of fibre. And processed milk (homogenized/ pasteurized) is NOT healthy. Raw A2 milk is best, and is loaded with beneficial enzymes for our microbiome.

    I'd recommend looking into Yin-Yang diet chart and Ayurvedic foods, because they've shown that foods that are cold in nature are the ones usually causing bloating. Ofcourse, there are exceptions.

    Bro. Thank u! Literally spent the past 2 weeks transitioning to raw vegan. Past 3 days my digestive system has been totally fucked. I drink 2 massive smoothie during the day and then big salad in the eve. but recently been having a lot if bloating gas and me stomach aches. We do increasing water intake cuz that's exactly way my body has been tell in me to do. Thanks a bunch for confirming eat the issue was cuz I'm sure now my fibre intake is through the roof after such a drastic transition. Merci !!

    Fibers in the diet isn't as healthy as people portray and farting a lot isn't a sign of healthy bowel movements, especially not if they are followed by at least 3-4 visits to the toilet each day.
    Vegan and vegetarian diets are not only filled with anti-nutrients preventing absorption of essential nutrients, they also cause leaky gut and digestive problems in the long run so no wonder why many vegetarians/vegans smell like old farts.

    A lot of gas and bloating are clear signs of food-intolerances and hence, the foods causing it should be avoided. Thus, beans, legumes, spinach, broccoli, and most veggies out there aren't suitable for human consumption and should be avoided. They are also stuffed with anti-nutrients that prevents proper absorption of the few available nutrients that plants contain.
    I know because I was there myself until 1/2 year ago and after going keto (and later carnivore), all of my previous bowel-issues, joint and tendonitis pains went away.

    Will a laxative/detox tea each night help as I adjust to the new lifestyle?I just went pescatarian and will do this for a while until I feel comfortable getting back to my old vegan lifestyle.
