Thanks for this. I've been trying to upgrade my lifestyle and heal my body. During our youth we often don't pay attention to the foods we eat or the lifestyle we live. I was born in the early 80's. As a child, my parents viewed healthy eating and exercise as "white people" stuff. They were of the opinion that a person "ONLY" needed to exercise "if" they were overweight, and ONLY rich, bored white people practiced these things. As you can probably guess from their ignorant mindset, their health, both mental and physical is…not the best. I actually haven't spoken to either of them in YEARS so I have no idea if that has changed. (I doubt it)

As a child and into my 20's I had a super fast metabolism. But after the birth of my child (had at the age of 29) I began to notice that my body wasn't behaving the way in which I was accustomed. I began to notice weight gain, brain fog, body pains. It was harder to force myself awake in the mornings. My chronic depression, something I had previously grown to live with and struggle through since nothing seemed to help- became so much harder to deal with. My advice to everyone out there is to LEARN YOUR BODY. EVERYONE'S body and nutritional dietary meals are DIFFERENT. What works for one person's body MIGHT NOT work for YOURS. You will need to experiment and try out a few things until you find something that works for YOU. And PLEASE don't neglect your mental health, which is JUST AS IMPORTANT. If something in your body or mind is out of balance, it can and will throw everything else off. I prayed for knowledge and healing and I thank The Creator for hearing me.

Thank you, @ Tonya for introducing this doctor to us. My go to is Dr. Berg, but I will also check out the gentleman you have featured in this video, (Dr Gil) as I am always open to knowledge.

I’ve been the blood type eating plan for years and it has been very beneficial for me. Also it has reduced my fibroids a lot. So each to their own.

My takeaway from this is, do what works for you! Up until the last two years I was easily influenced when it comes to nutritional and dietary beliefs, tends. I jumped on the Keto hype, alkaline hype, vegetarian etc, throughout the years, all the things.

I was a vegetarian for a little over a year, years ago. Then started working in Senior Care. Seeing old Black people who ate what some refer to as the "plantation diet" all their life, a long with some also being tobacco chewers, drinkers (Southern Black folks). Be in their 70s 80s AND 90s. Sharp mind, moving around independent, looked younger than their age, seemingly not unhealthy other than what comes with aging (a notable number of them, not all or necessarily most). Is what lead me to start eating meat, pork etc again. My thought was, "how could it be that bad, look at them". It should be said that they often ate meat, pork, dairy they farmed themselves, or was farmed in the community. Without the hormones and chemicals etc, unlike what's in the grocery stores. Nevertheless the guess speaker reiterated for me, my now understanding that, no one thing works for all or most. Personally intermittent fasting helps me. Dairy is very problematic for me (my favorite food group unfortunately). Meat in moderation has benefits for me, compared to when I was a vegetarian. High fiber is super necessary for me. I swear by apple cider vinegar. Last year I realized that juicing (70% vegetables 30% fruit usually) was giving me the itis, even with intermittent fasting. Blending my fruits and vegetables are better for me. Listen to your body more than people, is my takeaway.

so basically don't eat anything natural.. and the data refutes everything holistic and healthy… yeah ok. The people that create "the data" don't benefit financially from people being healthy. So all the people that have cured themselves with food are lying.

i think it would be great to bring on a holistic practitioner to debunk this dr.

  • at 12:36 am

This was cool but Dr. Eric Berg or Dr. Jason Fung or Dr. James D would have been better for this topic.

I have been vegan for 15 years, but I recently started eating 1 or 2 boiled eggs every week because I just don’t know what to believe anymore.
