I have been finally paying attention to digestive health, and have grown a liking to Kombucha. Learned about Milk Kefir and first taste I couldn't believe how sour it was. I gave it a few more tries and it really leveled out in taste, so I am now enjoying consuming it. Looking forward to it's benefits!

Lactose intolerance come from that “treated” milk. Raw milk contains the bacteria that breaks down the sugar in milk.

I found that freezing milk then making kefir with that; made a "Cheesier" Kefir at home. Didn't thicken or go fizzy. I assume it broke down the fat in the milk. Much nicer.

Need to find some seeds , to start the cultures .
I make my own yoghurt , useing either a base from a packet , with the addition of a probiotic capsules , or in making it from scratch , 2 capsules of probiotic , plus the culture . This ensures there's a healthier gut biome , than without it , and it shows on exiting , along with a reduced aroma .

It's pronounced keh-fuh – short "e", short "f" with the schwa. If you're producing a video about it, you really should get the pronunciation right.

You can't heat up the kefir while cooking with it because that will kill of the good bacteria (no baking for example). You have eat it raw.

Everything needs to be in moderation. Remember SIBO Your stomach acid is supposed to kill bacteria before it gets into the small intestine, that's because bacteria for the most part do not belong there. This good bacteria belongs in the large intestine not competing with your food. The hope is, that if your stomach acid is good, maybe some of these good bacteria will survive the acid gauntlet of your stomach and small intestine and actually make it to your large intestine. But if you have acid reflux, you may end up with SIBO, "small intestine bacteria overgrowth" If that's the case try drinking some apple cider vinegar. Acid reflux is normally caused by low stomach acid not closing the esophagus, and that muscle needs high acidity to close. (Don't take an antiacid, that will just make it worse)! I drink 2 tablespoons twice a day with an 8-ounce glass of water. Get ACV with the "mothers".

Well the kefir that i know looks nothing like this, it's just milk with the taste of lactic acid in it, but no grains.

I am a long time kefir lover and I always share it with my grandson who also loves it. But somebody told me about alcohol levels in kefir, from 0 to 4 g and now I am not sure that kefir is safe for kids. What do you think.

  • at 8:09 pm

Kefir is almost not permissible and association to prophet Muhammad PBUH is incorrect anything that contains any amount of alcohol is prohibited in Islam.

I strain the kefir through a cheese cloth and use the "cheese" to make cheesecake. Philadelphia Cream Cheese: 35% fat. Kefir Cheese (made with whole milk) 8% fat. And it's delicious.

  • at 9:27 am

I could make my kefir from store bought kefir.. Just warmed a glass of whole milk add 2 spoon of store bought kefir. Keep the glass in a warm place. If the weather is cold then place it in a oven after heating it mildly just so that its warm enough and switching it off

Not the pasteurized ones from market. You need to make your own with good quality grass fed full fat milk. Then you have to feed it like a pet.

I keep Traders Goat Kefir in my frig and go through a bottle every 7-10 days. I mix it with organic fruits, blending them into a thick smoothie. I would NEVER use the garbage that passes for milk, anyway, goat or sheep milk is closer to what humans can digest. Raw milks are available in Whole Foods, but they don't put it on the shelves, as the FDA Nazis don't want healthy people. They make a great base to add Kefir cultures to

  • at 2:26 pm

NOTE: the kefir was mixed in a blender. This is a no-no (metal blades)! So blend fruit with small amount of organic fruit juice then combine with wooden or silicone paddle

Apparently the folks at this channel think they're the only ones with this info.
Adding them to my growing 'Don't recommend channel' list.

Except store bought Kefir is not real Kefir. It’s not even kefir at all.
