Why do vegans compare their food to non vegetarian food??????
Like vegan fish, vegan omelette etc.
If you like non veg food then eat it.
    I just wanted to know…..

What flour can you use if you need a gluten free version. Also if these mushrooms are not available locally, is there an alternative option we can use?

love these vids BUT I eat real food & all purpose flour is processed food so this recipe is a no go. I'll check other vids that use only real food. I'm not trying to be snarky, I love Jana. Blessings & peace to all.

What type of oyster mushrooms? There are about a dozen varieties.

I was eating my raw cracker dough (oats, boiling water, salt and desiccated coconut). It reminded me of fish somehow!! I wonder if it is the desiccated coconut or the doughy feel of raw oats that have soaked up the boiling water? I was just wondering if it's possible to build on that?
Mushrooms are insanely expensive where I live, and good fish is hard to find. So even if it didn't need to be vegan, I'd still have trouble.

I tried to make this without flour a couple years ago epic fail. I've since learned to make patties from veggie pulp. Would love to see more pulp recipes ❤❤.

I use the leftover pulp from homemade broth. Squeeze through nutmilk bag (you need 2c) then add:
1 flax egg, 1/2c nutritional yeast, 1/2c gf flour(or oats, chickpea, potato flour…), 1tblsp any herb you like. I use a mix of tomato powder, fennel, ital herb, onion/garlic powder and salt. I've also tried coconut aminos, worchester, mustard, cumin…

Mix together and shape. It will be sticky. Dehydrate on parchment paper, bake or pan fry til done. Its so good. I grill the mushroom separately to keep the flavor then add to the veggie mix. This is the base for all patties and its a lot easier than it sounds (prep time 15 min). When ever i make broth, we have patties!💋

Hello Chef Jana! Do you think this recipe can be modified to salmon using beet or hibiscus for colour and some nori as skin? Thank you for all amazing recipes!

This is my favorite fish recipe. I have made this 3 times now. They freeze very well.
I have the nori sheets I use, and dulse flakes. It leaves 🍃 little green flakes and looks lovely.
Thanks for an amazing recipe. Yum 😋
