Pomegranate and Strawberry Spinach Salad
MAPLE CANDIED Walnuts
2 cups walnuts
¼ teaspoon salt
1 tsp cinnamon
½ tsp paprika
¼ cup chickpea Aquafaba or egg whites
1 tbsp coconut oil, melted
⅓ cup maple syrup
Preheat Oven to 350 ̊F (180 ̊C).
To a bowl, add the walnuts, salt, cinnamon, and paprika, toss until all the nuts are coasted.
Add the aquafaba, coconut oil, and maple syrup. toss to coat the spiced nuts. Place the bits onto a parchment paper-lined sheet pan. Bake for 20 minutes or until the sauce is bubbling and thickens. Take out of the oven and let cool completely.
Once cooled, the nuts should be hard. crack up the nuts to separate, set aside for garnish.
